Here are a few comments from our training course evaluation sheets:

Fantastic course - can't wait to get back to school and get started.

The course gave me loads of ways to help children enjoy play.

My midday supervisors have started to look at
how the children play and what they are doing before intervening.

Changed our lunchtimes and made them more enjoyable for the pupils - and staff!

Our training

The Playtime! Project brings together the playwork theory and all the practical lessons learnt from working in many primary schools to offer two training courses which have both changed minds and changed playground practice!

Playtime!

A one day training course for anybody in a school leadership, management or support role who wants to get more play in their playgrounds. The course focuses on the key success factors of the 'Playtime!' project and enables participants to explore practical solutions within their own school contexts. It also enables participants to find some solutions to some of the key 'sticking points' to allowing children to play at playtime.

Playtime! Praticals

Specifically for lunchtime supervisors, this two day course helps participants to think about how to provide the three key elements of really great playtimes in their schools; playful adults, playful equipment and playful space. Based on successful projects to put play back into the playground in primary schools, this course contains lots of audio-visual materials from those projects and real case studies which illustrate how the course content can be put into practice.

Every school which attends Playtime Practicals! receives a free copy of our Playtime! book and DVD. Click here for more details.

Please note that we have run these courses separately but find that the training is most effective in schools where the school management is aware of the changes that lunchtime supervisors will want to make as a result of attending Playtime! Practicals, so we would recommend that the two courses are run in tandem for schools that want to see significant changes in their playgrounds.

If you are interested in us running these courses in your area, please contact us.
