Children's Workforce Development Council
The Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC) aims to improve the lives
of children and young people. It does this by ensuring that the people working
with children have the best possible training, qualifications, support and advice.
It helps children and young people's organisations and services to work together, so
that the child is at the centre of all their services.

Common Threads
We support adults who work with children to improve the quality of children's
play experiences - we do this through training, publications and consultancy. Our
'common thread' is that play is vital for all children, whatever their age and ability
and wherever they play. For a fantastic range of resources visit our website:

European Children's Network (EURONET)
The European Children's Network - EURONET - is a coalition of networks and organisations
campaigning for the interests and rights of children (defined in the 1989 UN Convention on
the Rights of the Child as all persons under 18 years of age). They share a common concern
that children's rights should be taken into account in all EU legislation, policies and
programmes which have an impact on children's rights.

International Council for Children's Play (ICCP)
The International Council for Children's Play was founded as a reaction to the deficient
situation concerning toys in Europe. Psychologists and educators met in Germany, where the
working committee "Good Toys" was already active since 1954. The aim of the foundation was
the improvement of the situation regarding toys in Europe. In some European countries
subsequently working teams were founded aiming at the improvement of the situation concerning toys.
The specialists took the view that the toy industry takes the children`s needs to few into
consideration in the process of production of toys, especially regarding quality and functionality.

PlayLink
Playlink works with local authorities, organisations and groups that want to create the best
possible play opportunities for children and young people. They do this by offering advice,
information and services 'in the round'; that is, they recognise that creating sustainable
quality play environments critically depends on a mix of elements. By 'play environments'
they mean any area where children should be able to play, whether to a greater of lesser extent.
These spaces include supervised and unsupervised designated play provision, shared public open
space and parks, school playgrounds, streets, squares, rural and semi-rural areas, river and
canal side.
